If you have any other questions, or would simply like to get some guidance, please do not hesitate to contact our Client Services Representatives – they will be more than pleased to help you in any way they can.
1. What time do the workshops start and finish?
Langevin workshops start promptly at 8:00 a.m. and finish around 4:30 p.m. (give or take a few minutes, depending on the size of the class). Instructors will be in the classroom anytime between 7:30 a.m. and 7:45 a.m.; a continental breakfast will also be available at that time.
2. What is your cancellation policy?
We have a very liberal policy: you can cancel your registration up to 48 hours before your workshop. As long as you call us and let us know that you are unable to attend, you will not be charged any fees. A large number of our workshops are full; therefore, if you fail to attend a program and have not informed us, you will be charged the entire course fee.
If a course is cancelled, changed or postponed in any way, we will try to give you as much advance notice as possible. For those clients who are unable to attend at a revised location or date, we will refund 100% of any pre-paid course tuition fees; however, we will not be liable for any costs associated with travel, hotel, or any other consequential damages.
3. What are my payment options?
Langevin accepts various forms of payment for our workshops including: Check, Money Order, Visa, American Express, MasterCard, Discover, Diners, EFT (US only), Direct Deposit and Wire Transfer. If you prefer, your organization may be invoiced for your workshop.
Prices are subject to change without notice.
4. What is the dress code?
As people arrive, most of them will be dressed casually. Dress as you wish. If a suit is your style, that’s fine. If you’d rather wear jeans and a sweatshirt, that’s fine too. Remember to bring along a sweater as the heating/air conditioning in some of the classrooms is difficult to control.
5. What will I receive when I attend a workshop?
You will receive a comprehensive course manual containing job aids, checklists, samples, decision tables, and models as permanent references. The manual is used throughout the workshop. It is a comprehensive toolkit and a model for your own courses. Every page in our manuals is designed as a job aid.
6. What is included in the price of my workshop?
In addition to your workshop materials and having the expertise of our instructors at your fingertips, you will receive a continental breakfast each day, unlimited coffee service, discount rates in the hotels, copies of magazines to examine, a selected bibliography of the best books in the field, suggestions for further professional development, information on what other organizations are doing, a tangible action plan to implement immediately, and a certificate of completion.
7. What kind of support can I expect after I attend a workshop?
We offer a free 1-year edit/follow-up service on most of our workshops. Send us a copy of materials you design or a video-recording of yourself instructing and we'll give you detailed feedback. We also offer free telephone consultation. If you need advice, confirmation of a decision, or someone to discuss ideas with – just give us a call.
8. Will there be time to speak directly with the instructor when I’m at the workshop?
You can have one-on-one discussions with the instructor about your individual projects or concerns while attending one of our programs. In addition to being available during breaks, the course leader will also be available after hours, and before the course starts in the morning. You are invited to schedule one-on-one sessions to discuss concerns based on your needs and assignments back home.
9. What can I expect at a Langevin workshop?
On the morning of your workshop, you will be greeted at the door by the course leader who will welcome you (as if you were a guest in our home), and ensure your comfort.
At the back of the room, we have provided a continental breakfast. Coffee and tea will also be available in the afternoon. When you choose your seat, you’ll find the table has been carefully prepared for you. You’ll see a course manual, name card, pen, and water. You will also see a display table containing copies of magazines devoted to the training field. You will be comfortable.
Attendance is limited to allow maximum participation and feedback. You’ll find yourself in a small group of 4-6 people to facilitate the frequent group exercises planned.
10. How are your workshops structured?
Expect your course to be highly participative. There are many group and individual exercises, case studies, and samples to critique.
There will be varied activities and methods to keep you interested and stimulated. We’ll maintain a good pace so boredom won’t set in. We invite questions, comments, and even rebuttal at any time you wish (and only if you wish). We won’t throw questions at you or put you on the spot.
Breaks will be scheduled frequently so you can stretch, walk, talk, or make phone calls.
11. Will I have an opportunity to network with anyone else?
There will be many opportunities to learn from each other and the course leader. We rotate our Action Learning Teams so you get a chance to meet and learn from your peers. You will also find out what leading organizations are doing.
Additionally, on the first day of our multiple-day workshops our instructor will hold a forum at 4:30. This is a 20-minute session where participants can discuss and problem-solve any non-workshop related training issues. The session is facilitated by the instructor and provides an informal networking opportunity for the clients. Of course, client participation is optional.
And finally, some participants may decide to go out to dinner as a group. Participants have said this type of social activity has been invaluable for building contacts, advancing learning, and discussing key concerns – and it certainly helps build camaraderie.
There are networking opportunities galore!
